Shinano Kenshi Corporation (SKC–North America) has announced the launch of the PLEXTALK(TM) Pocket, the latest product from the company's popular and successful line of PLEXTALK(TM) healthcare and educational family of products.
The PLEXTALK(TM) Pocket is a lightweight, pocket–sized, DAISY–compliant music, voice, and book player/recorder that offers revolutionary mobility and ease of use by nearly anyone in business, education, and leisure. It is the world's first true crossover media recorder/player that bridges a host of applications yet also comes packed with features that support unsurpassed accessibility for those who are visually impaired or learning disabled.
The PLEXTALK(TM) Pocket weighs only 3 ounces and is small enough in size to easily fit into the breast pocket of a shirt, blouse, or jacket. Listeners can enjoy audio titles from Daisy Digital Talking Books, music CDs, MP3 CDs, or audio books on CD at work, at home, or at play. A powerful "Bookmark" feature allows users to return to and resume listening to media from the point at which they last were. A built–in superior quality microphone and speaker provides dynamic sound and volume for voice recording and playback via Plextor's proprietary DAISY structure. Personal "ear bud" stereo headphones (included) feature differing cord–lengths for ease in identifying left and right channels.
The PLEXTALK(TM) Pocket also features direct–read of HTML input from SD cards and USB flash memory so users can input media (including text–to–speech––TTS) without connecting to a PC. And simply connecting the unit to any computer via USB enables data and media backup as well as recharging of the PLEXTALK Pocket's 10–hour battery.
