CM lauds disabled student's courage: Pakistan
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that provision of quality education is the basic responsibility of the government and all–out measures are being taken in this regard.
Young generation is our precious asset and a comprehensive strategy was being adopted for equipping the youth with modern education, he added.
He said this while giving talent award and certificate to a disabled girl on her outstanding performance in metric examination, here Saturday. Taking notice of the news item about the performance of disabled girl, the chief minister called the student, her parents, Education secretary and the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education officials at the Chief Minister's Secretariat and gave a prize to the brilliant student on her achievement. He said the government would bear all expenditure on the girl's education and she can continue her studies wherever she wants. He said the whole nation was proud of the student who despite of her physical disability, had proved her talent. Encouraging the disabled student, he stressed upon her to continue her studies with the same spirit. He assured that the government would extend all–out cooperation to her. The chief minister also congratulated her parents. It may be mentioned that Zahra Abbas studied at a private school and she obtained 700 marks in science group in the metric examination. The student has been continuing her studies with her elbow as she is disabled of both hands and legs.
