Beijing launches non–barrier web surfing for blind people

Beijing has made great efforts to provide access for disabled athletes and spectators during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Now a system that enables blind people to surf the Internet has been put into use.

The system provides real–time voices to read out all the detailed contents of each page, including words and description of pictures. Blind people can now enjoy surfing the net to experience the Olympics and Paralympics.

This system is called "non–barrier web surfing". The Beijing Olympic Official website and some portals for disabled people have been embedded with the system.
