CSC urges gov't agencies to support Disability Week: Philippines
Bacolod City (11 July) – Civil Service Commission (CSC) Acting Chairman
Cesar Buenaflor enjoins all government offices and entities to give
their all out support to the celebration of the National Disability
Prevention Week on July 17–23.
This year's theme is " Kapag May Access, May Success," to be marked
nationwide through various activities like photo exhibits featuring
persons with disability, jobs fair, a bazaar of products, cultural show,
medical and dental mission, access forum for LGUs and others.
In Bacolod City, the NDPR week will be celebrated with a sports fest,
cultural program showcasing the talents of Persons' With Disability
(PWDs) symposia and fora, radio and TV interviews and distribution of
discount ID cards.
Association of Disabled Persons, Inc. president Lowell Raner said the
NDPR aims to enhance awareness on disability–related issues and concerns
through the print and broadcast media and to strengthen the
implementation of the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons (RA 9442) and the
Accessibility Law (BP 344).
