CSC urges gov't agencies to support Disability Week: Philippines

Bacolod City (11 July) – Civil Service Commission (CSC) Acting Chairman Cesar Buenaflor enjoins all government offices and entities to give their all out support to the celebration of the National Disability Prevention Week on July 17–23.

This year's theme is " Kapag May Access, May Success," to be marked nationwide through various activities like photo exhibits featuring persons with disability, jobs fair, a bazaar of products, cultural show, medical and dental mission, access forum for LGUs and others.

In Bacolod City, the NDPR week will be celebrated with a sports fest, cultural program showcasing the talents of Persons' With Disability (PWDs) symposia and fora, radio and TV interviews and distribution of discount ID cards.

Association of Disabled Persons, Inc. president Lowell Raner said the NDPR aims to enhance awareness on disability–related issues and concerns through the print and broadcast media and to strengthen the implementation of the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons (RA 9442) and the Accessibility Law (BP 344).
