LABARD to build training centre for disabled people: Pakistan
LAHORE: Lahore Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled (LABARD) will soon establish a state of the art training center in Lahore for disabled persons.
According to a press release Thursday, the centre will impart training to disabled people in various faculties and arrangements will also be made for their placements in different organizations.
Vice president Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Shafqat Saeed Piracah at the wheel chairs, tricycles and certificates distribution ceremony to disabled persons said LCCI would leave no stone unturned in ensuring proper assistance to the LABARD. He said all the businessmen should at least accommodate one disabled person in his factory or office to curtail the miseries of the society. The LABARD president, Pervaiz Malik said developed countries were giving special attention to disabled persons.
He said disabled persons in Pakistan were facing many difficulties due to lack of proper attention. He said government should divert its attention towards the issue and ensure proper facilities at all building and public places.
The LABARD has arranged jobs for disabled persons with an objective to give them courage to stare in the eyes of physical disability. The certificates were given to as many as 16 disabled persons on the successful completion of their training in various faculties so that they could be able to play their active role in the society. staff report.
