Baku, April 16: The Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour & Social Protection has started creation of single database for complex settlement of problems of disabled persons.

Labour minister Fizuli Alakbarov says that for the last few years the country’s different regions commissioned new medical institutions and toughened control over zonal medical social expert commissions that improved indicators of rehabilitation of disabled persons.

“In 2009 growth of primary disablement compared to the previous year decreased by 25.9% (6,412 persons), full rehabilitation rose by 5.4%.

This is the highest index for the last 5 years. As a result, one can say that percentage of rise of disablement reduced to zero. Positive tendency lasted and for Jan-Mar the index of full rehabilitation doubled compared to the 2009 same term. In order to ensure complex approach towards problems of the disabled the Ministry launched to form single database covering all necessary information on the country,” Alakbarov
said.
