Emergency alert device for people with hearing disabilities | Print |

April 15: People with hearing disability often fails to sense urgent situations and becomes more vulnerable during emergencies.

Emergency alerting device for deaf people

People with hearing disabilities issues might sometimes fail to notice urgent situations due to the inability to hear an alarm. British designer Sergej Kuckir has designed a useful and innovative device that can help the hearing impaired in emergency situations.

Looking like a radio receiver, the emergency alert device uses heavy vibrations and light signals to aware the users in serious situations, for the light signals are more reliable and quicker than visual or aural gestures. Inspired by an egg, the device features a sleek and trendy design. The disaster alert device also features a charging cradle that doubles as an alarm clock or timer while holding battery backup in emergencies. Should this be turned into a real device?
