BATU PAHAT, April 14: A chance meeting with a transvestite at Dataran Penggaram here marked the beginning of a hellish month for a intellectually disabled teenage girl.
The girl met the 29-year-old transvestite on March 3 and was persuaded to stay with him at his house in Taman Soga, where she was lavished with new clothes.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Mohd Aris said the suspect then began to bring men to the house and forced the victim, 19, to have sex with them.
"The suspect also assaulted and threatened the victim against leaving the house. The suspect charged his clients RM100 ($43.25) for each session with the victim."
Ibrahim said after the victim went missing, her family lodged a police report and also looked for her on their own.
"On April 11, the girl's brother received information that his sister was being held at the house in Taman Soga and immediately informed the police.
"We found the victim alone in the house and immediately sent her to the Batu Pahat Hospital for a check-up.
"We arrested the suspect on the same day at the Senggarang police station when he tried to lodge a police report alleging that the victim's brother had assaulted him."
Ibrahim said police seized RM2,247 in cash, believed to be procee ds from prostitution, and several used condoms at the house.
Police also found about 20 pornographic video clips on the suspect's handphone.
"Initial investigations showed that the suspect had previously been convicted for possession of obscene materials.
"He is also currently on trial on two separate counts of voluntarily causing grievous hurt and voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon."
