GAZA, April 12: Kuwaiti Al-Rahma Society for Relief and Development started on Wednesday construction and rehabilitation of 50 houses for people with disabilities and the poor in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The project is funded by the program of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, worth USD 1.56 million.

Director of the society in the Gaza Strip Ahmad Sharaf said the project aims to build and repair houses of families of people with disabilities and the poor and make them more appropriate in order to achieve the social development of these families and the creation of housing conditions for people with disabilities.

Sharaf's remarks came during his inspection tour along with members of Al-Rahma society to a number of homes of people with disabilities.
