Baku, Sept 19: Baku hosts a workshop on the rights and integration of people with disabilities into the society.

The event is conducted by the Ministry of Labour & Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan in collaboration with the EU Directorate General for Social Cohesion. The workshop discusses EU Action Plan "Provision of rights & integration of persons with disabilities into the society" (2006-15).

"The main purpose of the workshop is to strengthen work on population’s awareness and propaganda of issues of improvement of living conditions of disabled persons. The issue of disability exists in every society even in the most developed country. These countries are taking all measures for the recognition and realization of the rights of such people as full citizens and members of the society. Azerbaijan also actively uses this experience to improve living standards of disabled people in the country," said labour minister Fizuli Alakbarov.
