Disabled women first ever get TCB dealership in Bangladesh | Print |
Sep 6: Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) for the first time in Bangladesh has given dealership to women with disabilities. The Commerce Minister Lt Col (retd) Faruk Khan recently handed over the dealership papers to six women with disabilities at the TCB office in the city.

Earlier on 19 Aug in a reception of the newly elected members of the National Council of Disabled Women, he declared of delivering of 06 TCB dealerships to women with disabilities. The minister being impressed by the activities of the disabled women in their undaunted movement in the face of adversity for years, said that in an air of untrustworthiness, fraudulence, deception and dishonesty, it was very hard to find practice of integrity in areas of business. It was a drive of the government to resist dishonesty in business and curb the recent incredible hike of price of consumer products. He said that according to the commitment of their election manifesto, the government now endeavors to control the crisis of economy.

Adding that Where non disabled are hardly capable of controlling situations, it was an example for all to see the disability movement in demonstrating democratic practice and contributing in various issues in society, he expressed his firm believe that women with disabilities would fearlessly market their products and set examples of sincerity in good business. The country director of ADD Mosharraf Hossain said that it was a milestone in history and such opportunity would encourage hardships of persons with disabilities. They would prove their integrity in business market and such atmosphere would attract more disabled people for entrepreneurship.

The chairman of the TCB Joynal Abedin quoted poet's verses that whatever has been achieved so far in the world has been done half by women and half by men.

The president of the National Council of Disabled Women Umme Kulsum said that it was like a dream and a great opportunity for them to contribute to be in partnership in development in country. She said that it would create employment for persons with disabilities.
