Baku, Fineko, Feb 21: The first daycare centre for disabled children is to open in Azerbaijan tomorrow.
United Aid for Azerbaijan (UAFA) reports that the centre was founded on the basis Saraysk boarding school #7 (Absheron district) with the support of the Ministry of Labour & Social Protection.
The Centre which started operating this January provides care for disabled children during the day that creates an opportunity to work for their parents.
"The model of the care centre is used widely in international practice and helps minimize the rate of cases of abandonment of children with disabilities, while centre’s permanent residential care of such children provides their living in a family," UAFA informed.
The opening ceremony will be attended by representatives of governmental agencies and international organizations.
